In order to further promote high-end international cooperation, expand international influence and enhance the international reputation of the School, Prof. Wang Zongjun, doctoral supervisor and vice-dean of the School of Management, and Prof. Deng Shiming, doctoral supervisor and dean assistant, rushed to San Francisco on May 1. From May 2 to 6, they visited GSB Business School, School of Management Science and Engineering, as well as Sustainable Development Research Center of Stanford University, Haas Business School, Industrial Engineering and Operational Department of University of California, Berkeley (UC Berkeley), School of Management, Industrial and Systematic Engineering School of Georgia Institute of Technology, and so on. A.P. Wang Haijun, director of the International Certification Office, participated in the exchanging visit on May 2, and A.P. He Xiaobin, participated the ones on May 2 and May 3

　　Mr.Wang Zongjun, Mr. Deng Shiming, and Mr. Wang Haijun firstly paid a visit to A.P. He Xiaobin, a visiting scholar at Stanford University from our School when they arrived in San Francisco on May 1, and then they had an exchanging visit to Stanford University on May 2. In the morning of May 2, Prof. Wang Zongjun and his party met Peter Glynn, a Neumann Prize winner and Dean of Management Science and Engineering Department. The two parties introduced respectively the status of their Colleges and discussed about teacher visits, exchange-students and teaching activities. At noon, Professor Wang Jie, Executive Director of the Sustainable Development Center of Stanford University, welcomed and banqueted Prof. Wang Zongjun and his party. The two parties had discussions on scientific research, establishment of partner institutions, and international mobile classroom for MBA / EMBA, and they showed great interests in establishing Huazhong University of Science and Technology - Stanford University Joint Research Center. In the afternoon, they met with Madhav Rajan, the Associate Dean of School of Business, Stanford University, and Professor George Foster, to learn the teaching, research and management of the School of Business, Stanford University.

　　Mr.Wang Zongjun, Mr.Deng Shiming and Mr.He Xiaobin visited Industrial Engineering and Operational Department of UC Berkeley in the morning of May 3, and had a discussion with Prof. Philips Kamisky, dean of the department, Prof. Chen Ying-Jun and student representatives. At noon, Prof. Wang Zongjun and his party had a discussion with professors of Haas Business School and principals of projects such as foreign exchange, doctoral student management, EMBA and MBA, etc, and they conducted in-depth discussions about a variety of cooperative projects including teaching, research, MBA, EMBA, and visited various teaching, research, office facilities and laboratories of Haas Business School.

　　Mr. Wang Zongjun and Mr. Deng Shiming took off the plane on the evening of May 3, and arrived in Atlanta in the early morning of May 4. At noon of May 4, Prof. Jane Chumley Ammons, president of the American Society of Industrial Engineering in Georgia Institute of Technology, dean of the No. 1 School of Industrial and System Engineering throughout America, IIE Academician, member of Advisory Committee for American Natural Science Foundation, and Deng Shijie, dean of Financial Engineering Research Center of Georgia Institute of Technology, welcomed and hosted lunch for them. In the afternoon, Mr. Wang Zongjun and Mr. Deng Shiming had a discussion with many senior professors such as Chip White, famous professor from Industrial and System Engineering School of Georgia Institute of Technology, former Chairman of the American Society of System Engineering , IEEE academician, INFORMS academician, winner of the highest prize of the World System Engineering “Norbert Wiener Award” , and former dean of Industrial and System Engineering School, and Jim Dai, academician of the American Mathematics and Statistics Institute, INFORMS academician and Erlang Prize winner, and Zhou Chen, vice-president of Industrial and System Engineering School, Professor Deng Shijie, and A.P. Huo Xiaoming, and conducted a deep and wide discussion on cooperation of visiting scholars, student exchanging, co-sponsored conference and so on. After that, Mr.Wang Zongjun and Mr.Deng Shiming visited Professor Sridhar Narasimhan, vice-president of the School of Management in Georgia Institute of Technology, and met with Sridhar Narasimhan, vice-president of Management School, Professor Saby Mitra, dean of EMBA, and Professor Zhang Han, dean of Information and IT Management Department. They had a in depth discussion on issues like development of the department, professor evaluation, professor exchange visits, inter-school dual degree programs, co-sponsored conference, and visited various teaching, research and office facilities as well as laboratories of the School of Management.

　　During their visit in Atlanta, Mr. Wang and Mr. Deng met with Prof. Zhang Kezhong, A.P. Yan Jun and Doctor He Xubiao, visiting scholars in Atlanta from our institute. On May 5, Mr. Wang and his party visited the internationally renowned CNN headquarters and the Coca-Cola Centre. On May 6, Mr. Wang and his party visited Management School of Emory University, where associate professor Yan Jun worked as a visiting scholar, looked around the teaching, research and office facilities of the institute, and learned about the development of it.

　　The international exchange meeting with the presidents, deans and professors of Business School, Industrial Engineering Department and Management Science Department from many internationally renowned universities like Stanford University, Berkeley University, and Georgia Institute of Technology involved discussions on the level of institute and department, which strengthened our communication with them, accumulated experience and laid foundation for the consequent continuance of the high-end international cooperation of our institutes.
